Story: The possum skin markings is from an image of a traditional possum dated back to 1872. Traditionally the wearer would understand the markings and journey as it would be their story of life. The purpose and/or meaning behind this particular marking is not mine to explain or tell, but that of the wearer’s.
The texture for this piece was built up with thick layers of paint, I then water blasted the markings to undercover the history of the painting to symbolise the history and depth of cultural connections to land and country.
