Story: The possum skin markings is from an image of a traditional possum dated back to 1872.  Traditionally the wearer would understand the markings and journey as it would be their story of life.  The purpose and/or meaning behind this particular marking is not mine to explain or tell, but that of the wearer’s.

The texture for this piece was built up with thinner layers of paint, after watching a documentary about the Water Lillies paintings by Monet.  As I watched the documentary I was amazed at the depth and number of layers he used to draw out the intensity of colours that he was seeing at the time.

I am no Monet I am me but this is my homage to a process that I have become drawn to and will continue to immerse myself for sometime to come.
